1. How do you block PC from Network?
EnforceIT uses a L2 protocol to block PC from Network.
This works on fixed IP or DHCP networks.
This works with all existing Networking equipment.
There is no need to change the physical network or network settings.

2. How do I know the location of a blocked PC ?
EnforceIT Sensor will give you the MAC address and PC Name of the blocked PC
EnforceIT Sensor cannot tell you where and on which switch or hub did the PC connect

3. Does this only work with your security software ?
EnforceIT is designed to work with all security anti virus, spyware and firewall
Your existing investments in security remain safe
The existing investments are enhanced with better integration with each other and the networking infrastructure

4. How to set Policies ?
Policies are defined for a group of PC’s.
There can be one or many policies defined
You may have single PC group or group with hundreds of PC’s
Within a group some PC could be marked excluded for some policies.
Policies can be shared between groups
You can also use predefined policies

5. When are policies checked ?
Policies are checked as PC’s are started.
PC’s need not login for policies to be checked
Policy checking takes about a minute in the background and PC’s do not take any noticeable more time to startup
Policy checking does not add any extra network load

6. Which OS are supported today ?
All Windows OS are supported starting from Windows 98
Optimised for Windows 2000 and upwards
Unix and Linux variants are not supported
Future versions will support Linux and Unix versions that support a open standard called DMF (Desktop Management Forum)

7. How to design Policies ?
Policies are designed using a wizard that guides you trough the entire process
The policy expression is built by selecting variables from a tree view
Combine logical expressions using AND / OR and also define expression evaluation precedence

8. What Database is used ?
EnforceIT is designed to use any database
EnforceIT ships with MSDE, which is a free to use database from Microsoft
It has been tested with MS-SQL and Oracle
EnforceIT Database backup and restore functions are builtin
